E-town Girls Lacrosse

Free Opportunity

This was shared with Mark Weissend and I thought I would post here if anyone is interested. I know it is a little last minute but sounds like a great idea to get the sticks warmed up for winter!!
My name is Chris Yates and I am with Manheim Township Girls Lacrosse. We are hosting a free clinic with Juniata College Head Coach, Naomi Radio. It will take place on Saturday October 14th at Weaver Rd fields here in Manheim Township. They are located at 2883 Weaver Rd Lancaster Pa 17601. Appropriate equipment is required (stick, goggles, mouthgaurd, etc). Cleats are recommended but not necessary as the fields are all turf.
The clinic will be a two part clinic:
The first part will be from 2-3pm and will be for goalies only. This will focus more on good habits and technique and not so much on shot stopping. The shot stopping will come with good habits and skills as they develop as players. The goalie part will be open for all ages from 3rd through High School.
The second part will be from 3-4:30pm. This will be for field players. We will focus on all phases of the game. Offense, defense, stick skills, etc. The field player part will be for 3rd through 8th/9th grade (current freshman wanting to play for their high school in the spring).
In each segment we will break the girls up by age/skill level so they get more individualized training and get the most out of the experience. After the goalie part is over any goalie who wishes to stay is welcome. They will get a ton of time in the net while we do the field position clinic. We need a challenge for the field players and they may have a chance to get more tips as the drills are ran. The second part isn’t necessarily for goalie focus but they will get a lot of practice.
This is an amazing opportunity. For anyone who knows Coach Radio she has a decorated career as a player and a very successful career as a coach. Her bio is listed below.
Please send this out to your clubs asap so they can plan accordingly. We will not have an official registration but we ask that you get us a rough count so we can plan for the amount of help we will need on the day of the event. If you have any questions or want to discuss anything please email me at this address or call or text me at (717)945-4049.
We hope you are able to attend and bring your players. In the off season, keeping a stick in the girls hands is very beneficial for their development. We find that doing clinics like these for our players, we as coaches get an opportunity to learn as well. The drills and coaching techniques the guest coaches use become very useful during our individualized team practices.
Thank you for your time,
Chris Yates
